The current condition of MSC’s Intramurals today is nothing but mirth in the faces of the students. Comparing the past and present experiences can’t be avoided concerns. Is the present intramurals really that planned for or is it just a speedy construction? Greeted with a fetching plethora of people on the first day of intramurals, the joy of the students can easily be seen. Like always a set of venues for every contest was organized and an astonishing event to start the day with a blast was present that day.
This year was totally different and at the same time people were ready to face the full gears of fun. But under the heat of the sun there were simple changes we can’t help but notice. The main tally board and the official schedule weren’t posted unlike the previous years. It wasn’t a hefty change but it felt unnatural for we all know every department is fueled with competition. The tally board always provides department’s standing and helped everyone keep on track. Without the official schedule posted on a big tarpaulin it was a struggle to some of us to be informed of the events that were happening. T
he sudden changes of schedule added up to this leaving some of us uninformed. Some changes to the events also had a big impact on us, like how the senior high students couldn’t compete with the college students anymore. However, if we look at the brighter side, the new rule that was created gave the different strands including the junior high the chance to form their own team, to prove themselves, showcase their own talents and abilities. Unity was built among the different strands and they were able to show “coopetition” within their circle. Overall, MSC Olympics 2018 can’t really be concluded as a speedy construction. A blasting event to start the intramurals, booths, literary and sports competition show that despite the changes and shortcomings, enjoyment and satisfaction are evident in the faces of every MSCians.
